Child Care & Early Education in Blacklick Ohio

Open since 2008, we are conveniently located near the Gahanna, Reynoldsburg, and Blacklick areas. We have a building full of wonderful teachers who go above and beyond every day! We are so proud of our team, and try to do all the extras to remind them how special and appreciated they are: Team-building activities, potlucks, birthday/anniversary recognition, and shoutouts throughout the year help to remind our teachers how much they mean to all of us! Parent surveys go out each Spring to get input on things we can change, alter, or add, to our many new changes! We are not your typical corporate center but rather a family-centered community focused on total involvement, engaging teachers, and family-centered early education. Additionally, in September 2026 we will be rated Silver for SUTQ!

Curriculum/Assessments:

Our lessons are aligned with ODJFS (Ohio Department of Job and Family Services) Birth-5 Year standards while also incorporating Teaching Strategies Gold Creative Curriculum Objectives and Dimensions. We give our teachers ideas on themes and let their creative minds explore to plan age-appropriate activities. We believe the children learn best through hands-on, play-involved activities.

Teachers maintain ongoing documentation and anecdotal notes for all children enrolled. Assessments are planned for Fall, Winter, and Spring in an effort to track children's development and make goals to assist the kiddos in meeting their academic goals! Throughout the school year, we offer two time periods for parent/teacher conferences. Though EGELA maintains an open-door policy, this meeting is an opportunity for all of us to set goals, discuss any concerns, and see the progress over the year as it's happening. When each child enters our program they will have a portfolio that follows them through each classroom: When they graduate in Pre-K it is given to our families.
